We are invited for the third edition of Bucharest GreenSounds Festival, during the weekend of August 26-28, 2016 in Herastrau Park, an event organized by the Municipality of Bucharest and creart – The Centre for Creation, Art and Tradition.
For three years, our Bucharest has sounded better with GreenSounds, a festival which delivers us a complete experience each time through its concerts performed by local and international famous bands, international gastronomy zones, interactive activities and relaxing time, thus becoming both a free access music zone and an opportunity of having fun in the open air.
On the first day of the festival – 26th of August – you will meet SCARECROW, a band from Toulouse, France, who brings us a less conventional style back on the stage, a fusion between the songs born in the cotton fields of the 20’s and the urban rhythms of the largest cities in the 80’s. A unique experiment of Hip Hop Blues, self-entitled “the protest music of the 21st century”.
N.O.H.A. – (Noise of Human Art) is an active band who has been singing since 1995, prone to many mixed styles like drum&bass, world music and energy loaded grooves. The band is renowned for their cheerful and energetic concerts, their passion for traditional music and multicultural approach, combining various musical styles in a harmonious way. You can meet them on August, 26 in Herastrau Park!
STRUNG OUT, an American punk-rock band comes from Simi Valley, California, performing in Bucharest on 27th of August. This is one of the most innovative and versatile punk act of all times, performing special shows worldwide.
On the second day of the festival, we will meet MAD CADDIES, a band from Santa Barbara, California, who brings us a mix of reggae, punk, ska and pop influences, with various-styled melodies molded in a coherent manner as we get to know them better. Performing since 1995, with six albums releases and over 400.000 copies sold, Mad Caddies proves that people still listen to their dynamic music though tendencies keep changing.
MANDO DIAO, an indie-pop-rock band from Borlänge, Sweden, closes the second evening of our festival with a typical performance, full of energy, perfectly combining the rhythms of old garage rock with blues, indie, alternative and pop music.
OTROS AIRES, a band who originally mixes classical tango and electronic music with contemporary lyrics and rhythms, comes from Argentina at BUCHAREST Green Sounds FESTIVAL, on 28th of August. This is an exceptional audio and visual show, delivering us a unique musical experience belonging to Nuevo-Tango genre.
KOOP OSCAR ORCHESTRA, a Swedish musical project, created by Oscar Simonsson, a former composer and producer of Koop band, will perform in Herastrau Park, on 28th of August, presenting a unique fusion of classical, electronic and jazz music. A style which sometimes borrows cabaret and swing sounds.
On the third day, THE HERBALISER joins our festival with a live concert which promises to surprise us with their original style and sound.
Besides other international artists you may listen to SUBCARPATI band who are returning with a new album during the first day of the festival. The band will perform a concert that will be converted to an unforgettable audio experience. On the first day of the festival bands like Fanas, Pistol cu Capse, Jurjak and E.M.I.L will also perform on the stages at Herastrau Park. On the second day, we will see the likes of DJ Hefe, RoadkillSoda, Harlequin Jack, Vița de Vie, The Kryptonite Sparks and Cred Că Sunt Extraterestru (I Think I’m An Extraterestrial) launching their album during the festival and being responsible for all the good music, while Groove Therapy with Eugen, Otherside, Lucia & Muse Quartet, Soul Serenade, Omelette and Helen will perform on the third day of GreenSounds Festival, alongside various international artists.
