The City Hall of Bucharest organizes the “Architecture and Regality” exhibition through the Creart – the Center for Creativity, Art and Tradition of Bucharest, in partnership with the Romanian Cultural Institute through the Academy of Romania in Rome. The exhibition will take place at the Academy of Arts Gallery in Romania from May 10 to June 6, 2018 and will be opened on May 10, 2018, at 18:00 on the occasion of the Royal Day.
The exhibition “Architecture and Regality” is signed by Acad. Prof. dr. Răzvan Theodorescu, Prof. Dr. Augustin Ioan, Prof. Dr. Marius Marcu-Lapadat, Curator – Ionel Stoicescu and conducting under the Auspices of the Royal Family of Romania. The exhibition is accompanied by the documentary film “Residences of the Romanian Regency” (subject and script by Prof. Dr. Răzvan Theodorescu).
The exhibition is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the arrival of Carol I in Romania and the foundation of the Royal Dynasty, as well as the 135th anniversary of the proclamation of the Kingdom of Romania.
The exhibition “Architecture and Royality” illustrates three great themes: “Architecture of Kings and Queens of Romania”, a section that remarks the direct role of the kings and queens of Romania in the realization of some of the most important edifices of the country, from Peleş and Pelişor Castles and Palaces Royal in Bucharest, to the LRC Principles Heroes Margareta and Prince Radu of Săvârşin and Curtea de Argeş, “Representative Architecture in Romania Influenced by Royality and Monarchs”, theme dedicated to the influence of kingdom in society, in the configuration of some directions in architecture in Romania and the “Royal Exhibition Exhibition” illustrating architecture as a projection outside of the monarchy, to society and abroad, an architecture of how the Kingdom of Romania wanted to be viewed externally at the 1906 General Exhibition at the Royal Pavilions of Romania years tr Eighteen (Paris and New York).
